For each of the past 14 years, the Canadian Sponsorship Landscape Study (CSLS) has been a source of industry information for sponsors, properties and agencies in Canada. However, in 2020, a year unlike any since CSLS began, uncertainty and retraction define sponsorship in Canada. However, the 2019 year – the greatest year to date in sponsorship in Canada – is the source of data for the 14th annual CSLS, which reveals some very positive trends and realities that we can, at least to some extent, aim to get back to as we emerge from COVID in 2021. SMCC is a partner on the annual CSLS, which is a bilingual Canadian study, whose results are freely shared and widely used.
